KHOWAI, Nov 22 (TIWN): In an unusual incident, a computer teacher Bipul Biswas was heavily assaulted by students, guardians in Krishnapur school in Khowai after an allegation was brought against him of exchanging inappropriate talks with girl students. A viral video showed that students were beating the teacher with their shoes and also tore his shirt. Parents, including women, assaulted him, stretched him on flood, and then brought him outside from the staff room and left him to be further beaten up by students.
Police immediately arrested the teacher and put him in lockup.
After the incident, local MLA who is also a cabinet minister Bikash Debbarma visited the school and held a meeting, but no voice of the teacher could be heard.
Meanwhile, Bipul Biswas was terminated by the company which recruited him under a government contract.
Today, computer teachers’ organization members in a press meet raised question, how without any investigation, such a decision was taken.
“In a government contact, a teacher can be suspended and after investigation, the decision would be taken, but here, the decision was taken on spot,” Computer Teachers’ Sangha told media.
