All Tripura Pensioners’ Association stages mass demonstration

Agartala, February 6 (TIWN): All Tripura Pensioners’ Association (ATPA) staged West district level 3-hour long mass demonstration with 20-point charter of demands near Guruji conference hall at Orient Chowmohani here today.

Speaking in the demonstration, president of ATPA- Santi Ranjan Debnath said that over 50 pensioners including family pensioners are being deprived due to the negligence of state government. He further said, after the retirement, the employees of semi-government, undertakings, autonomous and Jute Mill are not getting the pension equal to the retired government employees till date.

“The pensioners of all sections are being deprived of getting appropriate pension benefit due to the negligence of Left Front ruled state government”, Debnath said.

The ATPA leaders further alleged that blaming the Central Government for the deprivation and expressing a framed story on the financial limitation of state government, Tripura Government Pensioners’ Association (TGPA) maintains to deprive the pensioners by utilizing the pension system for the political interest of the retired government employees.

The main demands of the association are; to release due 38 percent DA immediately, higher limit of the gratuity has to be increased to Rs. 10 lakh, to cover the retired employees under medical re-embursement, commutation benefit given after 12 years instead of 15 years and to provide medical allowances of Rs. 1000.
