AGARTALA, February 5 (TIWN): The CPI (M) state committee meeting concluded today with the CPI (M) state secretary Bijan Dhar laying a stress on the need for the left parties to strengthen its party organisations and mass fronts to challenge the onslaught of the BJP against the minority communities and working classes of the country.

The CPI (M) two days long state committee meeting started from Tuesday and it has ended today taking up certain issues on CPI (M) state conference slated to start from February 25. The meeting also discussed the issues related to the upcoming ADC election slated to start from the month of May, 2015.

Talking to the media persons today at the party head quarter at Agartala Melarmath CPI (M) state secretary Bijan Dhar said that the state committee today completed taking the issues related to the upcoming CPI (M) state conference. He said that the conference would start from February 25 and will continue till February 28. Adding to that he further mentioned that the conference will be inaugurated at Agartala Town hall on February 25, and a mass rally will be staged at Agartala Vivekananda ground. All India CPI (M) General Secretary Prakash Karat, Brinda Karat, Biman Basu and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar will address the meeting on February 25.
Dhar said that the state committee meeting has also taken up the issue relating to the upcoming ADC election slated to be held on the month of May, 2015. He said that during the last two ADC elections the left front govt. had achieved a major success. “The left front govt. here in Tripura has always been working for the tribal people of the state and has also been focusing for the development of the ADC areas of the state”, claimed Dhar. Dhar said the Opposition here in the state is working hard to highlight the loopholes of the government as well as the party leaders mobilizing a section of media. Adding to that he further mentioned that the left front is the only alternative to Congress, BJP and other regional parties here in Tripura.
However sideling another issue taken up during the state committee meeting, Dhar said that the CPI (M) state committee condemns the BJP’s recent remark on “North East immigrants”. He claimed that the BJP govt. has always been trying to separate the North Eastern state from the nation, since it has come to power at the center. “The northeastern states are an integral part of India. Those people from northeastern states staying in Delhi are also citizens of India,” said Dhar.  However, making an attack on the BJP Dhar said that the CPI (M) party will continue its campaign against the communalism.
Dhar today expressed his hope that the Tripura State unit of CPI (M) will be a pivoting force in the future struggle to defend the interest of the working class and toiling people of Tripura.
