AGARTALA, Aug 18 (TIWN): Udaipur school teacher Abhijit Dey was murdered recently by BJP leader Shankar Karmakar and some of his friends. Abhijit Dey was a PGT English teacher and a girl student sent him a message in WhatsApp which he replied. The message was misinterpreted and then BJP leader Shankar Karmakar reportedly sought over Rs. 3 lakhs from Abhijit and beat him up and then Shankar Karmakar called Abhijit’s wife and sought money and in front of her Abhijit Dey was further beaten up.
Police arrested Abhijit Dey as Shankar Karmakar lodged a molestation case against Abhijit Dey based on the WhatsApp messages and took him to hospital as he was sick. On next day, in court, Abhijit Dey died.
Severe injury marks were seen on Abhijit’s boy but what was surprising, neither police not the Doctors at GB hospital felt necessity of post-mortem and handed-over the body to family for cremation but after seeing the spots on Abhijit’s body, local people demanded a post-mortem of his body. The report yet to come.
Now, the family with help of High Court senior lawyers, will appear to High Court seeking justice.
‘I never saw such negligence in my 38 years profession in Law’, said Senior Lawyer.
