New Delhi, July 30 (TIWN): In the aftermath of a devastating train derailment in Jharkhand, the Railways has announced a compensation package for the victims' families and those injured. The incident, which occurred at 3:45 AM on July 30 near Barabamboo in Seraikela-Kharsawan district, involved 18 coaches of the Howrah-Mumbai Mail. This marks India’s third major railway accident in less than two months.
According to official reports, two people lost their lives, and approximately 20 others sustained injuries. The accident site is located near the border of West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts.
West Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Kuldeep Chaudhary confirmed, "Two persons were killed, and 20 injured as 18 coaches of Howrah-Mumbai Mail derailed near Barabamboo." He added that the Howrah-Mumbai train collided with a stationary goods train.
