Congress placed deputation to Gaurnagar Panchayat Secretary with various demands

KAILASHAHAR, July 5 (TIWN): A deputation was placed to the Panchayat Secretary of Gaurnagar Gram Panchayat on Friday by Congress with ten point demands.

The deputation program was led by Congress leader and elected panchayat member of Gaurnagar Gram Panchayat Hilal Ahmed Khan, Congress leader Ramuz Ali Arfiq, Abdul Khalek, Pinkesh Das, Bimal Singh, women leader Kakali Dutta and other leaders.

Addressing media, Hilal Ahmed Khan said that MNREGA work should be started immediately in the Gaurnagar Gram Panchayat area and that demand has been placed.

In Ward No. 2 of Gaurnagar Gram Panchayat, about two hundred acres of arable land has been submerged in water for four years, and farmers have not been able to cultivate in the land for four years due to waterlogging.

The Congress members also raised other issues such as Oldage pensions, that should be paid to genuine senior citizens.

A market shed should be constructed for vegetable traders in Gaurnagar market, said Khan.

“A lot of houses have been destroyed in the recent heavy hailstorm and immediate compensation should be provided to the actual victims. Clean drinking water should be provided in every ward of Gaurnagar Gram Panchayat. The road leading to Bhagwan Nagar of Ward No. 2 of the Panchayat should be repaired immediately,” he added.
