AGARTALA, June 25 (TIWN): Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Tuesday said at least 23 number demands were placed before the central government ahead of the central budget placement by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Addressing media, Roy said, ahead of the central budget planning, a preparatory meeting was held with the state Finance Ministers and like other states, Tripura too placed its demands for the pilot projects. According to the Minister, the demands which were placed before the Finance Minister are such as funding for the Highway competition, logistic hub, double lanes, funds for TTADC, and also proposed for AIIMS, ITI like institutions.
“We also appealed for the two central schools in the state. We pressed upon the double-lane projects as it would speed up the railway services. Right now, due to lack of that, many trains have to wait for long and the local trains often suffer the most. With the introduction of the double land, there will be more trains connecting to other states in the coming days. Right now we have 11 trains that are connected to other states,” he added.
