AGARTALA, May 29 (TIWN): TSECL officer Apu Pal on Wednesday was caught up in a messy situation after he reached West District Court during a Lawyers’ ongoing protest against 3-day-long power cut in the court for the last three days. The lawyers were protesting against the power outage that continued for the last three days since cyclone Remal hit the state. The senior manager Apu Pal reached the court and talked to the protesters. The agitating lawyers asked him, where was his team, and who would fix the electricity issue. The officer could not answer anything properly and that generated anger among the lawyers.
The lawyers then announced they wouldn’t withdraw the protest until the power services were restored in the West District Court.
Meanwhile, the senior manager complained to his higher authority, alleging the lawyers had detained him and not left him from the court, which the lawyers refused later.
At last Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath called the lawyers and also talked to the TSECL officer. Nath ordered the TSECL officer to immediately fix all the power outage-related issues in the court.
Agitating lawyers accused the TSECL officer of sending a wrong information to the Minister and almost kicked him out of the court.
