New Delhi, July 26 (TIWN): Congress MP Hibi Eden raising question over the budget allocations said in the Parliament on Friday, “The Honorable Finance Minister introduced the budget with the idea of Viksit Bharat (the terminology used). However, the idea of India has been totally shattered in this entire budget. This budget is a classic example of destroying cooperative federalism in this country.”

“When the government came into power in 2019, Modi sarkar had promised 2 crore jobs every year. By 2024, 10 crore young people were supposed to get jobs. But unfortunately, this has not happened,”, he said.

“In 2019, colleagues from this House shouted, "Modi hai to mumkin hai." But in Manipur, hundreds lost their lives and thousands got displaced, but our PM went to Pakistan for Nawaz Sharif's birthday, but till date, he hasn't visited Manipur. In Bihar, 14 bridges collapsed, and other states saw disturbances; these incidents show that 'Modi hai to mumkin hai',” he added.

“There is a very critical point that MPs from the coastal belt should understand: the offshore mining mentioned in the budget will undoubtedly increase, affecting the lives of lakhs of fishermen. It will disturb the flora and fauna, disrupt the marine wealth, and destroy the ecosystem. The Critical Minerals Mission will essentially become an Adani-Ambani mission. The longest coastline, which stretches to Gujarat, will see the lives and livelihoods of fishermen severely impacted, and corporates will take over the shoreline….”, Eden told the parliament.

He went on….There is no place for Kerala in the budget.

* The govt has no focus on preventive healthcare.

* No allocation for vaccination drives.

* No regular health checkups or screenings.
