AGARTALA, May 29 (TIWN): Frustrated with long power cuts, poor electricity services after a 40 KMPH windy storm, netizens slammed Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath after he alleged massive losses of 2.5 crores due to the storm. As Nath’s press meeting exchanged a lot of data with the media, which is his usual method of addressing the press, netizens on social media asked him to ‘stop lying’. Some social media users asked him to replace the old machines which are too old to function seamlessly. Ratan Lal Nath also blamed early summer’s arrival is exhausting the estimated electricity and crossing the estimated power demands, affecting the transformers. Nath said, these are some of the causes behind regular power outages.
Reacting to such excuses by the Power Minister, netizens wrote sharp remarks such as :
“You have quit studying. That’s why you do not know anything except debates. Foreign Ministers are so much educated,” commented a social media user.
Another user said, “Unlimited cheating! For last 6 years, you could not change the transformers, but have collected hefty amounts in the name of upgrading the system.”
“Uncle, change the machines. Your machines are too old, operating since ancient time,” a user said.
“How much should we hear from you about transformer stories. So much of electricity bills are coming. Can’t you upgrade them?”, a netizen left a sharp remark.
