Agartala, February 1 (TIWN): A national level workshop cum seminar titled as “Strengthening Cultural Education in Schools†involving District level education officers from thirty districts across the country has begun here in Pragya Bhawan, since yesterday. The programme has been held under the sponsorship of Union Ministry of Culture and the same will portray and put light on the cultural richness of India’s diversified especially the socioethnic culture of tribal people having a bearing on their lifestyle and research activities of the unattended treasures of the concerned section of the society. Once the workshop is over, the trained education officials will train the tribal language.
Relating to the same, Education minister of Uttarakhand Prasad Naithani has reached here and he had a courtesy meeting with Education minister Tapan Chakraborty. He has expressed his gratitude to the people of Tripura fir providing financial assistances and support at the time of devastating flood which had hit the state in the year 2013.
Meanwhile, District Education Officers (DEOs) from three districts of the state have participated in the programme. “All are not required”, remarked Director of School Education, to our correspondent, on being asked why five other districts have been left out. A cultural show on the aforesaid theme will be held at Nazarul Kalakhetra 5 PM onwards, this evening. Centre for Cultural Resource and Training, New Delhi has organised the aforesaid workshop.
