Agartala, February 1 (TIWN): A four-day long annual festival of Azad Hind Club was concluded today at the club premises in a befitting manner with pomp and gaiety.
During the four-day programme, the club authority staged a variety of events for children and women including sit and draw competition, recitation, quiz, musical chair. Besides, the club today conducted a blood donation camp as part of annual festival.
On the closing ceremony, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar inaugurated the volunteer blood donation camp by lighting ceremonial lamp and shared the dais with chief guest and Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC)- Dr. Prafullajit Sinha. MLA Gopal Chandra Roy was supposed to attend the programme but he could not remain present.
Besides, president of Azad Hind Club- Lalit Debnath, convener of club advisory committee- Pankaj Roy and many other dignitaries were present in the closing ceremony.
Speaking in the blood donation camp, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar appreciated the initiative of club for taking such programmes especially for the children and women. These kinds of event motivate the children to be a good citizen, he added. Besides, the Mayor also delivered his essential speech in the programme.
The welcome address was delivered by the member of club advisory committee- Dr. Sanjoy Roy and vote of thanks was given by the president of club.
