KAILASHAHAR, February 1 (TIWN Exclusive): In the name of the construction of Tirupati Temple under the supervision of Sarengi Math the then Unakoti DM Abhishek Chandra skillfully succeeded to acquire 17 Kani of agricultural land from the farmers. The area is located in Vilaspur village near Manu river around 13km away from Kailashahar town. Abhishek Chandra is alleged to have convinced the farmers that the temple of Tirupati will be constructed along with Saraswati Temple, Hospital, Guest House and a primary school under Sarengi Math. Accordingly the Sankaracharya of Sarengi Math Gouri Sanakarachrya laid the foundation stone of this mega project on 7th December 2013. During the foundation laying programme Gouri Sankaracharya declared that by 2015 the construction of this project will be completed. Naturally the people of Kailashahar started to believe that the temple and hospital as well as Primary school will make a significant changes in the field of socio-economic sphere.But up to the last day of the first month of 2015 hardly 10% of the work has been completed, many poor farmers are living in severe poverty as all their lands were taken away by former DM Abhishek Chandra to help corrupt nexus of CPIM contractors, officials.

And a vast area of land already been allocated for the Sarengi Math is lying vacant which can easily be used for agricultural production. The farmers who gave away their huge tracts of land with the expectation of getting a news scope of earning their bread are now striking their heads in despair.

Now they are demanding that if indeed the project won't be completed,  what is the need to present a showpiece by the Contractor of Sarengi Math namely Jayanta Pal?

It is learnt that during the last two months the local labourers engaged in the said construction are not getting their wages.

To make the matter worse,  the contractor Jayanta Pal gave sub-contracts of the said project to some local contractor and their main purpose is to earn money rather than completing the project in time.

        It is to be mentioned here Abhishek Chandra during his tenure as DM Unakoti got involved in a massive scam under Unakoti Dugdha Unnayan Project and in this regard he was closely supported by another scamstar cum ARDD Director Dr Dharneswar Das, against whom serious allegations were raised by the Assam Govt and intact he was terminated from the post of Dean of Assam Agriculture College.

And the then Unakoti DM Abhishek when he got deeply involved in the ARDD scam , former Chief Secretary S K Panda came to his rescue and took the initiative and brought him to the Agartala Municipal Corporation as the Executive Officer.

Very efficient in handling massive scams ( indeed earned a good name as a scamstar ) Abhishek Chandra at once realized that this transfer was a blessing in disguise. And ever since his transfer Abhishek Chandra remained busy in utilizing his resources to get a clean chit in the ARDD scam rather than the having chats with the authorities of the Sarengi Math to take initiatives to complete the project in time( though it's almost impossible right now). 

      It sounds very positive when the ministers especially when the so called Mr Clean CM Manik Sarkar assures the people saying ," LF Govt is not going to tolerate any kind of corruption." But when the time arrives to react , none of the ministers is seen to take any concrete steps against the corrupt officials.

As such inspire of having so many prrofs against Abhishek Chandra'as involvement in different scams, state govt has come out in his rescue. And as such the people living in Kailashahar have begun to believe that the land given away in the name of Tirupati Temple might have been a major waste made under the shrewed trap of intelligent Abhishek Chandra.
