AGARTALA, March 6 (TIWN): ANM job aspirants said they would go in massive protest, if the government does not recruit them immediately. Over 1300 women and 250 men are now unemployed since passed out, said the job aspirants. They alleged it’s almost 2014, the recruitment is almost paused and without recruiting, how the government is running the hospital, they wonder. “We all belong to lower middle-class families. It took a lot to complete our studies, but after passing out years back, we have no job in hand now. We are going to be overage soon,” said one of the job aspirants. “We are not insulting any profession. But if we had to rear cows and engage in agriculture, as per the advice of the ministers, then we could have done this without these degrees. Why have we studied? Why did we spend on tuition fees,” said the job aspirants.

“Next time, I will leave my baby here before the department because we are unable to run the family expenditure,” said a woman, who passed in ANM years back.

“Last time they (Health Dept officials) said around 100 of recruitment will be done but now they said, they are not getting the file in return which they sent proposing recruitment. We are getting over-age. What is our future? Now, the election is ahead and there will be no recruitment during that time. We are here protesting gently, giving a gentle reminder to the government that we are waiting for recruitment,” said another unemployed, ANM passed-out youth.
