AGARTALA, March 4 (TIWN): Budget 2024-25 has focused on developing health care services, community health centers, and rehabilitation center and spending Rs. 192 crores of fund for multi-health care units at GB and AGMC. Unfolding the plan for health infrastructure State Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy stated in the Assembly, “I take this opportunity to thank our Chief Minister for implementing Jana Arogya Yojana’, 2023 which has been rolled out on 15 February 2024. The scheme will have a positive impact on the life of every citizen of our state. This along with Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) will cover 100 percent of citizens of the state under health insurance”. “State government has given priority to strengthening health infrastructures across the state. 3(three) Community Health Centres (CHCs) located at Panisagar, Kumarghat and Karbook have been upgraded to Sub-Divisional hospitals,” he added.
“During 2024-25, 200 (two hundred) bedded Multi Care Health Unit will be constructed at AGMC and GBP hospital complex, Agartala with a project cost of Rs. 192Croreunder Prime Minister's Development Initiative for North Eastern Region (PM-DevINE). Staff-quarters will be constructed at Kanchanpur and Amarpur Sub-Divisional hospital complex with a project cost of Rs. 11.50 Crore under ‘Suvarna Jayanti Tripura Nirman Yojana’. 5 One Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for drug addicted people will be set-up at Sepahijalawith project cost of Rs. 89.90 Crore under Prime Minister's Development Initiative for NorthEastern Region (PM-DevINE”, said the Finance Minister.
