Agartala, Jan 30 (TIWN):Safety of women continues to be a serious concern here. Campaigns against atrocities on women have not helped in reducing the number of crimes reported against women in the state.
Seems like assurance of chief minister Manik Sarkar who holds the home department, campaigns and programmes have proved futile.
It could do nothing to bring down incidents of rape, molestation and other anti-women activities. The number of cases related to various atrocities against women - including rape, molestation and domestic violence – are increasingly at alarming rate. National Crime Bureau reports that the state ranks second in the country on crime against women.
