JATRAPUR, Feb 7 (TIWN): Increasing illegal intrusions are raising question over the border security issues at the Indo-Bangla border lined with the state Tripura. Rashid Mia is a resident of Bangladesh’s Kalkote village’s Ward No-3 under Jalda Kha 7 no Nilfamari PS. He was living in Luddamura village of Jatrapur PS for many years without any valid documents. Based on secret information, Jatrapur Police searched his home and then arrested him. At the same time some more Bangaldeshi citizens entered in India were detained in separate cases across Tripura. On Tuesday night 31 years old Enamul Hak was arrested who entered Tripura illegally through border. He was detained by Kamalasagar BOP’s on-duty BSF jawan. Later, the detained person was handed over to police.

In another border-infiltration spree incident, 109 BSF Bn has detained 23 Bangladeshi civilians in Sabroom at Madahbnagar BOP area. Sabroom’s Srinagar, Madhabnagar and some other places have now become the den for illegal border activities.Various smuggling activities like cow smuggling, and drug smuggling are continuing through the borders. BSF has been consistent in protecting the border and detecting illegal movements through the border. The 23 persons entered through the fencing area and the BSF Jawans saw them. After chasing for a while, the BSF jawans were successful in detaining them.Along with them 75 Bag sugar, 17 mobile phones were also seized. BSF then handed over the detained persons along with the seized items to Manu Bazar Police. A specific case was registered under case no-2024 MNB 05 U.S. 120 (B) of IPC and 03 of IPP Act.

3 more Bangladeshi citizens arrested at Dharmanagar Railway station who entered Tripura illegally. Out of these three arrested persons, two are women and a child. Government Railway Police (GRP) have arrested these illegal intruders named Salma Begum (23) and Tahira Begum (42). They are residents of Basirhar District’s Amtali village under Moulabhiganj PS. GRP then handed them over to Dharmanagar police.

So a total 24 were arrested in Tripura in last 24 hours reporting.
