“The budget was expected to highlight farmers’ issues, unemployment issues and it was hoped that there will be some announcements for the youths, farmers but this budget has everything except people of India’s needs. This budget has totally excluded the people from it”, said Pabitra Kar, a leader of CPI-M farmers’ wing said.

“The Finance Minister wore a beautiful saree. Her speech was also very nice but all these important issues lapsed from her budget”, added Kar.

“MNREGA mandays that have been continuously reduced, this time also was deducted. So protesting against this anti-people budget, we have burnt the budget”, Kar said.
