AGARTALA, Dec 19 (TIWN): Tripura’s terminated 10323 teachers continue their strive and yet to give up on the dream to restore their jobs, which they lost after Supreme Court’s final verdict in 2017. 10323 teacher Pranab Deb filed a new SLP in Tripura Supreme Court (SLP No-52,984/2023) challenging Tripura High Court’s final verdict on September 26 which dismissed the allegation of 10323 teachers about illegal termination. Senior Advocate Amrit Lal Saha who has been fighting the legal battle on behalf of 10323 teachers said at Agartala Press Club, that termination without any notice is a violation of the constitutional rights of any citizen and so the fresh SLP was filed now in Supreme Court.
“Dozens of petitions were filed in the court. The last case which was livestreamed from Tripura High Court in its maiden streaming history, was heard by the bench of 3 judges. But as the judgment was not in our favor, it means we failed to explain the issues before the court”, said Saha.
“We do not disobey the verdict of courts. But everyone has right to challenge any verdict as per the constitution. So, the 10323 teachers have decided to appeal in the Supreme Court that was done after consulting with Supreme Court’s expert advocates”, said Advocate Amrit Lal Saha.
Petitioner Pranab Deb appealed to all 10323 teachers to join a meeting that will be held next Sunday.
