AGARTALA, Dec 18 (TIWN): Assuring the newly appointed JRBT candidates who were given offer letters, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said, “Don’t worry about all these issues are going on. Your job was given based on written and viva test. Nothing to worry. Some cornered people are trying to catch fish in murky water and that’s it”. The Minister was talking to the newly appointed candidates under his Food Dept in an offer-letter distribution program at the Secretariat sharing the dais with Food Dept Director and Secretary and said, “It is true that we have taken a lot of time to complete the recruitment process. JRBT candidates were in tension due to the delay. An uncertainly was hovering over the issue. The opposition raised the issue in the Assembly to get political benefits but what our Govt was looking forward to keeping the recruitment process transparent”.
“Over 7,500 candidates were in the process and the final selection took place through Viva process”, said Sushanta Chowdhury.
“Everyone received answer sheets and the candidates could get an idea about their test scores from that. With that score, viva test was added. I was talking to CM before a while about the ongoing issue that some people are trying to create uncertainty among you. They are some cornered and lost their footholds and thus trying to catch fish in murky water”, added Sushanta Chowdhury.
Oppositely, after 5 eligible candidates filed petition in Tripura High Court after they were deprived of JRBT jobs even after having higher scores than the appointed candidates, Tripura Congress lambasted the BJP Govt over the irregularities. In a press meet on Monday, Congress said, “The BJP Govt does not mention the address of the appointed candidates which itself shows the ill motive of the Govt to hide the irregularities. The JRBT recruitment corruption is not an allegation of any political party but it was confirmed by High Court as the Court has asked the state govt to appoint the 5 eligible candidates within a month. We demand an investigation into the entire issue. We do not trust Tripura Govt’s investigation and so Congress demands a Judicial investigation”.
