TIWN Dec 18, 2022
AGARTALA, Dec 18 (TIWN): Incumbent MP Rebati Tripura is nowhere seen in state politics, and attending party programs in Assam. Rebati Tripura’s absence is stabilizing the fact that he will not be given MP seat for 2024 Lok Sabha election and might be a new candidate who will fight the election for BJP for the East constituency. Speculations are high that former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma might be announced as the candidate who lost the Assembly poll in 2023 at his Charilam constituency. However, when speculations are going on over MP seats, Tripura BJP itself has no idea what is going on inside the party.
So far Pratima Bhowmik’s position for the MP post seems safe.
BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharjee on Sunday in a political program praising BJP MP Pratima Bhowmik said, she is such a candidate who was chosen by PM Modi because this Govt wants the development of women.
Pratima Bhowmik also won Assembly Election seat in 2023 March from Dhanpur but after Manik Saha was declared as the Chief Minister she resigned from the MLA post and continued with the MP post.
