AGARTALA, January 28 (TIWN): The Additional District and Sessions Court, West district today rejected the bail plea of scamster Bimal Chakraborty into multicrore MGNREGA scam of Bishalghar RD Block. He appeared before the court today hoping that bail plea will be granted. But terming some laws, the court declined his bail petition, said an official of police department. On the other hand, 8 accused persons among the 9 surrendered or arrested persons including scamster Bimal Chakraborty would be produced before the Addl. District and Sessions Court on January 31 said official source. BDO Bimal Chakraborty was a close aide of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and translated former Chief Secretary S.K.Panda's book One plus one into Bengali. Apart from that Bimal's powerful 3 brothers; Amal Chakraborty State DYFI Secretary, TPS Officer Kamal Chakraborty is SP Security and elder brother and Chief Minister's close friend Shyamal Chakraborty tipped to become fist Vice Chancellor of upcoming State University.

“As the court on January 16 directed the investigation officer to prepare and tender the complete charge-sheet of this sensitive case within two months, there is a huge chance of negligence in course of remaining investigation amid rush preparation for charge-sheet”, said the source.

The source further said that there is very poor chance to frame the complete charge-sheet within the specific time of two months.

Even after a considerable time from lodging FIR, two more accused persons of the total FIR named persons of multi-crore scam, Debprasad Nandi (GRS) and Mita Malakar (Junior Engineer) are still at large.

Among the total surrendered or arrested persons, the High Court of Tripura only granted conditional bail to Tushar Kanti Sen (Panchayat Secretary) in a recent past.
