Kailashahar, January 28 (TIWN): Slandering lie, personnel of Manu Valley SPO camp severely beaten up two minor students by tying their hands and legs at Kailasahar sub-division on Tuesday morning.
The two injured minors are Krishnamani Nama (16) and Prasenjit Biswas (14), both are the students of Bhadrapalli School under Samrurpar Panchayat (ward no-8).
According to the local sources, an amount of a person from the same area was stolen few days back. Suspecting their involvement into this stealing case, SPO Dipak Debnath along with four other personnel called Krishnamani and Prasenjit at SPO camp in two phases on Tuesday morning, said locals.
After their arrival at SPO camp, the duty personnel tied hands and legs of the minors and brutally beaten them with hard sticks and iron bars. As a result, the minor lads sustained severe injuries on their persons.
Afterward, Gourmani Nama, father of Krishnamani Nama along with local panchayat member Ranjit Sukla Baidya rushed to the SPO camp and found both of them were lying on ground in unconscious condition and taken them to RGM hospital. At present, both of them are undergoing treatment in the RGM hospital.
Today, two FIRs from the family members of wounded students were lodged at Kailasahar police station in this regard and police started investigation into this matter.
A memorandum was also given to the Superintendent of Police (SP), Unokoti district in this regard and the copies of the memorandum were submitted to District Magistrate (DM), Unokoti, SDM, SDPO of Kailasahar sub-division, and to the Unokoti Zilla Parishad as well.
