Agartala, Dec 15 (TIWN): Fire Brigade job aspirants on Friday failed to meet CM Manik Saha after police prevented them before CM quarter. Talking to the job aspirants, one of them told media, “We could not meet the Chief Minister as police, TSR stopped us. We are just unable to meet CM after many attempts we have taken to meet him. After few days they will stop recruitment due to election. So many times, we have submitted written application to meet CM but so far no appointment was given to us”.
‘On May 14, 2022, the job advertisement was released and accordingly, physical tests were taken in 8 districts. Then we appeared in written and viva tests but no result was declared. We request the Govt with folded hands to recruit us. Total of 1,796 candidates cleared physical and more 17 driver-post job aspirants. So, more than 1,800 candidates are waiting for the results.”, he said.
“When unemployment rates are rising high, the Fire department is reeling under staff-shortage. We request the Govt to take care of the matter and recruit us at the earliest”, said the job aspirant.
“We, 1,800 candidates have only one dream, that is, we would be recruited as Firemen. We hope our Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will consider our issue and fasten the recruitment process”, he said.
Total 304 posts as firemen and 25 drivers’ posts were declared to be fulfilled.
Police personnel were disrupting the job aspirants when they were talking media, that generated massive anger among the job candidates.
