AMPI, Dec 2 (TIWN): Tripura Congress State President Asish Saha on Saturday while returning from Ampi after party meetings, met the mother and her children at Teliamura hospital. Congress party also extended some financial help to the family. Talking to the media, the State Party President hammered on the BJP Govt for its attempts to hide the truth of the state’s reality which according to him is gripped into “hunger and poverty”.
“State’s condition is not well. Does not matter how many futile attempts the Govt makes to propagate a ‘Sushashan’ but actually, it’s Dushashan. People are selling their children due to poverty. Everywhere public are blocking roads protesting against pending wages, water crisis, road repairing and power disruptions and the Govt claims it is a Sushashan ?”
The incident happened in Teliamura where a newborn baby was sold in exchange for Rs. 30,000 by her parents. Soon after the incident, another mass-suicide incident was reported in Melaghar where three family members died by committing suicide.
“In Longtarai Valley also, same incident happened. Just now the news came to me”, said Asish Saha referring child selling incident.
