AGARTALA, Nov 16 (TIWN): Ahead of the crucial Lok Sabha Election, preparations for the upcoming polls started in Tripura. Addressing media in a press conference, Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Thursday has requested people to join in the summery revision of the voters list by December 6. He said, that in last Assembly Election total of 28 lakhs 13 thousand, 478 voters were recorded in Tripura and this year so far 28 lakhs, 26 thousand, 46 voters have been counted so far which means 12568 voters have increased in the past few years.“Voting rights is a very important right of the people, allocated by the constitution. As the voters' list has been published and the summery revision started on November 1st, it will be continuing till December 6. People can add new voters’ names who are eligible or new voters like those who just have become 18 years old or close to being 18", the Minister said.
"People can remove a voter’s name with causes like death and also they can correct any name if wrongly published. I invite all legal voters to participate in the summery revision”, said Nath.
