AGARTALA, Oct 5 (TIWN): After Congress MLA Sudip Barman’s open invitation to Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Manikya to join as Congress State President, Pradyot Manikya on Thursday reacted before media that he was never against Congress and he still loves the party but the people who insulted him in 2019, they are no more in Congress and have joined Trinamool. Pradyot Manikya visited the Secretariat to talk to the Chief Secretary about fund allocation issues. Journalists asked him to react over Sudip Barman’s invitation to Pradyot Manikya to Congress and in reply, he stated, “Till today, I have not talked a single word against Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and I worked from heart for this party. Right now, my goal is to give constitutional solution to my people. Later, let’s see what can be done but Congress has now understood that the people who insulted me on that time, they deserted the party and joined Trinamool Congress".

Pradyot Manikya quit Congress in 2019, allegedly after he was insulted by a few state Congress workers over his support to NRC. Then Pradyot Manikya quit Congress after completion of Lok Sabha poll and formed his own party Tipra Motha, that works for Constitutional Solution for the Tiprasa community.
