AGARTALA, Oct 3 (TIWN): 2 people have been sentenced to death, in convicted of raping and murdering a 6-year-old child Saurabh Chandra Nath and Dibakar Das. The case is of 2019. Special court judge Anshuman Debbarma ordered the death penalty to both for raping and killing the minor. After a sensational incident in 2019, 41 people gave witnesses. After hearing the case, on Tuesday the Special Court judge Anshuman Debbarma ordered that the two convicted Saurabh Chandra Nath and Dibakar Das be sentenced to death.
On June 17, 2019, a six-year-old minor girl went missing from Padmapur at six o'clock in the evening. The minor's mother lodged a missing diary at Dharmanagar Women Police Station.
The next morning, local residents found the body of the minor under the Kargil hill of Haflong and informed the police.
After investigating, Police arrested Saurabh Chandranath (19) and Dibakar Das aged (20) and started investigation. Sourav's house is at Madhubari Road in Padmapur area and Dibakar's house is adjacent to Cook Well company in Padmapur.
Both of them were being prosecuted under Section 363/376B/376D/302/201 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 6 of the Parties Act. After a total of 41 witnesses testified, Judge Angshuman Debbarma convicted both.
Before the judge, Sourav and Diwakar told that they took the minor girl to Kargil Hill in Haflong and Sourabh first raped the girl. The girl died out of pain. Then Dibakar raped the dead body of the girl. Both said they were drunk.
