AGARTALA, January 26 (TIWN): “Corruption is the weapon to retain the power”, remarked the Leader of Opposition (LoP) Sudip Roy Barman, while speaking on the reasons or circumstance of the inactivity in taking effective measures to put an end to the ceaseless corruption all over the state, at the initiative of the left cadres and patronisers of them.

In an exclusive talk to this correspondent the Opposition Leader has said: “As they (left government) have a clear and commanding majority we know they will not signify our words or issues but we will succumb to them and put every possible pressure so that they act against the corrupt ones.” The winter session of the assembly is going to start next February 6 onwards.

And this time, the opposition has not only number of rock solid subjects to nullify the government but also the authority itself acknowledged the wrongdoings of its peers.

“We have not yet sat to decide on the issues but crimes against women, corruption and chit fund scam will be the major thrusts but as number (meaning seats in state assembly) outplays all the issues in democracy we are at crossroads”, said the opposition leader.
To add to that, the CPI (M) led left front government has already expressed its arrogance and vanity of power b uttering obnoxious and derogatory remarks like “Saat a saat … Saat a Ponchas …. Saat a Sunya” (which after the translation depicts the left parties got fifty seats last time  …. will get all sixty seats next time … and Congress or opposition will get no or zero seat in state election).
Sudip Barman has sharply reacted today on the atrocities of the state government’s illicit works by saying that if they (government) do not allow officers to involve in corruption then this CPIM Govt would not be able to hold on the power.
On being asked about the future course of actions of the party the Opposition leader has said, “We will spread our protest movement all over the state to arouse the anti left spirit amongst the people of the state so that the common and poor people are not robbed of their rights and dignity.”
