AGARTALA, June 18 (TIWN): It was clear from Congress new State President Asish Saha’s statement on Sunday that all was not well inside the Congress party under Birjit Sinha’s leadership, who was earlier allegedly responsible for former Congress President Pradyot Manikya’s resignation in 2019. Although Asish Saha said that Birjit Sinha’s health is not well and could not be contacted but Asish Saha’s remark about giving back respect to the real Congress activists who were in this party for a long time, has made it clear that there was lack of unity, spirit under the leadership of Birjit Sinha.
National General Secretary of Congress K.C. Venugopal has signed the appointment letter of Asish Saha, replacing former Congress State President Birjit Sinha.
On being asked, what will be the first target of Asish Saha as the new Congress Party President, Saha said, “My first mission will be to revive Congress. We have a glorifying history. We have Chief Ministers who have been reputed personalities. Now, I assure that the leaders have been with the party for a long time will get their appropriate places in the party. Our workers will get freedom of speech inside the party. They will be paid respect and to be listened. In other works, Congress party will be revived fully”.
