It should be noted that there is a problem with drinking water in Kalipur area of Ward No. 12 of Kailasahar Corporation for a long time.

On behalf of the local residents several times written and verbal demands were made to the chairperson of the Corporation and to the official of the DWS office. Finally, the DWS department decided to set up a water treatment plant in Kalipur area.

Accordingly, the installation of water treatment plant has started in Kalipur area for the past one month. After completing the building work of the water treatment plant in the first phase, a serious accident occurred while installing the motor machine inside the house on Wednesday afternoon, June 7.

Locals are of the opinion that even death could have occurred as a result of this hazard. The work and materials’ qualities are under question marks.

Two workers fell on the ground after floor had collapsed. The incident happened while they were working inside the house. Residents rushed to the house of the water treatment plant after hearing screaming of the workers.

Fortunately, there was no electricity at that time that saved the workers’ lives.
