AGARTALA, June 7 (TIWN): Police detained a suspected NLFT Militant based on suspicion. It is reported that NLFT Militant demanded Rs 10 lakh from the Technical Assistant of Tulasikhar block through WhatsApp. The alleged NLFT member threatened the Technical Assistant of Tulasikhar Block saying he will be kidnapped if he doesn’t give the amount.
And this information was given to the Champahaur PS, the Police after receiving such news led an operation. The NLFT Militant was asked to come to collect the money and when the NLFT Militant named Rajesh Debbarma rushed to the said spot, the Police detained him on Tuesday and started interrogation. Rajesh Debbarma is a resident of East Badlabari Village in Tulashikar Block.
After interrogation, it is reported that the detained Rajesh Debbarma is an active member of NLFT since the past 1 year.
Police have registered cases against him under various sections.
