AGARTALA, May 6 (TIWN): Reacting over the Manipur issue and Tripura’s parents' concerns for the safety of their children, Opposition Leader Animesh Debbarma on Saturday has hammered on the BJP led State Govt for its lethargy to bring back the students and the people from Manipur who are stuck there. Talking to media, Animesh Debbarma said, “When already three states have evacuated their students why is the Tripura Govt motionless? Sitting in Agartala is not enough to understand the gravity of the situation ! Violence and threats are over there. Parents have not yet approached the Chief Minister for students' evacuation, does not mean that threat is not existing there”.
“Are we waiting for an unwanted incident to happen with Tripura students and then we will evacuate them?”, asked Animesh Debbarma.
“Before anyone dies, the step should be taken. If I was in his (CM Manik Saha’s) place, this evacuation could have been completed before 2 to 3 days back”, said Animesh Debbarma.
“It’s not CM who will pay for it. Govt has funds for such works. Transport Dept will also work but evacuation must be started without any delay. There are so many places, where threats are existing. We can not wait till the situation will be normalized”, said Animesh Debbarma.
