BELONIA, May 6 (TIWN): A tragic and toxic end of a love story has taken a little baby's life. A housewife Swasti Das (24), W/O-Rajib Das has committed suicide after she poisoned her 1-year-old daughter Dipika Das.

The incident took place in Khedabari area of South Srirampur under PR Bari PS.

After poisoning her daughter, Swati had hanged herself to death. When the family and locals discovered the matter they rushed both the mother and daughter to hospital.

Doctor declared the mother was dead and the infant was still alive but after a while, she also breathed her last during treatment.

Police have started investigating the matter.

Before 3 years, both Swasti and Rajib eloped from family and got married. At last both families agreed and accepted the relation. But 1 year after the marriage, the couple started fighting over each petty matter, said locals. The love story of Swasti and Rajib now met an dead-end with the tragic incident.

Rajib was not in a condition to talk to media due to the shock he received through the unexpected incident.
