AGARTALA, April 4 (TIWN): Centering the ‘Chaitra Mela’, mafias are allegedly being active. Allegation against BJP’s one section of members for extorting the people.
‘Chaitra Mela’ has started today and a total of 538 Stall’s occupancy were created in Shakuntala, Orient Chowmuhani and in Jackson Gate’s area, and to run stall no extra charges were applied to them and no fares have to be given to the Municipal Corporation, informed Corporation’s Mayor Dipak Majumder. But there is no similarity between Mayor’s decision and in the reality, as extortionists are reportedly playing an active role in Shakuntala Road on Monday to collect money from the small traders.
It has been alleged that only 200 stall occupancy were created without any charges but Mayor before media stated that total of 538 stall occupancy were created to sit in ‘Chaitra Fair’.
It is alleged that the applicants are of Ruling Party are selling those stalls in exchange of Rs 5000- Rs 10,000, but no one wants to open their mouth before the media out of fear.
