AGARTALA, April 4 (TIWN): Massive preparations started for the upcoming Bengali new Year Poyla Boishakh celebrations. The occasion is marked by variety of traditional food, new clothes and families get togethers. Already markets have been piled up with garment stocks. The businessmen on the occasion purchase new ‘Haal Khata’ to maintain their annual financial reports, debts and calculations.
Ahead of Bengali New Year that is ‘Poyla Boishakh’, reduction sales in the Chaitra Fair started in Agartala Sakuntala road.
In other areas of the state also same preparations are going on. Fish prices also go high on the occasion of Pohela Boishakh. The enthusiasm of Pohela Boishakh is seen mostly seen in West Bengal, Assam and Tripura.
The Chaitra Fair where clothes will be sold at special discount has started at Sakuntala market where Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has allocated space in the footpath.
However, this year once again the traditional Chaitra Fair’s space has been restored and businessmen have thanked Manik Saha led Tripura Govt and AMC.
The Chaitra Fair will continue till 14th April, one day ahead of Poyla Boiskhakh.
