AGARTALA, January 22 (TIWN): In the ongoing 'Statewide Scams of Tripura' it is not quite sure how many more scams are going to be unearthed ? All the scams which were unearthed in the recent times, the scamsters are undoubtedly close either to CM Manik Sarkar or his aides . How often a section of national media including a leading Bengali daily published from Kolkata presents him as Mr. Clean (!) CM and also tries to present Manik Sarkar as the poorest and honest(?)Chief Minister. One after another scam after scam is being unearthed in Tripura leading to a massive looting of Centrally sponsored funds under MGNREGA, NRHM, PMGSY etc but section of the national media mysteriously remained mute without even printing a word in its issue. But surprisingly the Centre, which is so much serious about the corruption issues in West Bengal like the one in Saradha Chit Fund case, which is now under CBI, too is showing leniency towards the LF Govt in Tripura.

Leader of Opposition Sudip Roy Barman told the media several times with documented evidences showing that in Tripura under the CM Manik controlled CPI(M)  govt has been promoting organized corruptions through some dishonest (but in CMs Good Book) officials and of course under the efficient (!) guidance of some ministers in the Cabinet( that too by those belonging to Honest CM Manik lobby).

In West Bengal some heavy weight leaders of the ruling party are behind the bars like Kunal Ghosh, Madan Mitra and some are counting for their turn. But when it comes to Tripura neither the Natendra Modi led BJP Govt nor CBI is showing any interest in the massive scams that have already been unearthed. Even on Tuesday Leader of Opposition Sudip Roy Barman exposed the corrupt CPI(M) Govt and CM Manik Sarkar in a press meet saying ," In the Internal Audit Report of 32 blocks Rs 300 crore 79 lakhs were looted by the ruling party and surely Chief Minister Manik Sarkar is a producer and director of this massive scam. We are going to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this month in New Delhi and will submit all the evidences of corrupt ions involving in various Centrally sponsored funds before PM Modi."

Sudip also slammed the govt saying that if impartial and special audit is conducted in all the blocks the amount that was looted will definitely cross more than Rs 500 to Rs 600 crore. Here are some more instances where corruption is clearly visible :-

1) Looting of Rs 50 crore from MGNREGA fund in which Comrade BDO Bimal Chakraborty, who is the brother of DYFI state Secretary Amal Chakraborty, is the prime accused

2) Rs 40 crore scam on NRHM in Kailashahar

3) Rs 90 crore scam in NH44 construction ( alleged that the construction agreement was given to BRO in Rs 90 crore but it can be completed in Rs 10 crore. Obviously the lions share of this money went to the party in power)

4) Rs41 crore scam in Rupaichhari R D Block

5) Rs 25 crore scam in Teliamura R D Department

6) Rs 35 crore scam in Kailashahar Horticulture Department

7) Rs 15 crore scam in Agri Superintendent Office at Mohanpur( regarding the buying & distribution of potato seeds).Bijoy Roy, Store Keeper has been suspended

8) Rs 3 crore scam in Bamboo Project( jungle cutting) in Kadamtala

9) Rs 5 crore scam involved in the construction of Kadamtala Hospital

10) Rs 2 crore scam in Tripura Apex Fishery( purchasing of dry fish, limestone, fish food)

11) Rs 2 crore scam in purchase of watermelons plants

12 Rs 1.crore looting in Mekaghar R D Block's Golden Jubilee Celebration

13) Rs 1.82crore scam in Memaghar R D Block(Assement Year 2011-12)

14) 1.27 crore scam in Udaipur Municipal Council.

15) Rs 5 crore RMSA scam

Now the the questions that will definitely arise from these statistics ( these are not fabricated but purely known from the Internal Audit Reports) are :-

1) Why is the Enforcement Directorate(ED) silent in corruption issues in Tripura?

2) Why aren't influential persons are not interrogated or called for interrogation?

3) Why is CBI so mute about Tripura and too much vocal against the suspected persons including heavy weight politicians in West Bengal?

4) Is there any unholy ' behind the curtains deal' between the CBI Incharge for NE Region and State Govt especially with the honest (?) CM ?

5) Why is the BJP state unit not attacking against this corrupt govt and against corruption isuues?

6) Isn't the Centre playing a double standard role in case Tripura and West Bengal?

It is to be mentioned here that Congress and TMC filed two separate PUBLIC Interest Litigation(PIL) in the High Court demanding CBI probe in the multi-crore MGNREGA scam in Bishalgarh R D Block. But BJP is yet to come out so strongly against the CPI(M) ; a surprising stand taken by the state unit of BJP in comparison against its WB unit. Moreover, no one from BJP has filed any PIL in the HC demanding CBI probe in all the blocks to see whether there is any defalcation in utilization of funds allocated under various Centrally sponsored schemes. Significantly the MGNREGA Act itself state ," Not only in any defalcation but even a delay in submission of utilization reports but Implementing Officers(IO) gives the Centre the right to interfere." But the Centre hasn't yet shown any positive step in this regard. Inspire of such massive looting since May 2014 to November 2014 centre has sanctioned Rs 386 crore under MGNREGA to Tripura.

According to a highly placed official working in an intelligence agency ," CBI actually initiated process to gear up for Tripura related issue. But a top level CBI Official in the NE Region( IPS officer from MT cadre 1993 batch)and worked as IGP Law & Order few years back in Tripura  has played the key role to stop the forward movement of CBI in Tripura. The official is having a very good(??) relation with CM Manik Sarkar. And in return for this good relation the CBI Officer is having great hospitality in hands of CM and his Co. So one can easily understand that even CBI too is purely politically motivated."
