AGARTALA, Feb 21 (TIWN): No law and order disturbance will be tolerated and Election Dept is as serious about counting day as the poll day regarding controlling of violence. During a visit to the North District CEO Kiran Gitte told media that Commission is very serious about the law and order issue. CEO said, just like the polling day, counting day will also be violence free and no disturbance will be allowed. The visit of CEO accompanied by DGP and Chief Secretary to North District was to review the Law and Order condition. Tripura Election was conducted on 16th February and the result will be declared on 2nd March.

Tripura 2023 Assembly poll was the most challenging election for the Commission in comparison to any other state in India. CEO Kiran Gitte had to undergo a lot of challenges and pressure during the poll season and ahead of poll for two months, full preparations were going on and training had been given from polling perosnnel to police and central force.

The challenge was political and administrative both but 70% control could be brought over the poll violence and almost after five years, booth capturing culture was successfully prevented and candidates were kept secure before and after nomination submission.

Statewide peace meetings are underway led by SDM, SDPOs via all-party-meetings.
