AGARTALA, Feb 20 (TIWN): Family members of Dilip Sukla Das could not resist tears and broke down into screaming after CPI-M party leaders visited the house of the deceased. Dilip Sukla Das was murdered by BJP Gram Panchayat member in Kalyanpur, Khowai. The name of the Pradhan is Krishna Kamal Das and his driver Tapas Das was also accused of the murder. Although Krishna Kamal Das has already been arrested, but from Govt side, no moral support was extended to the deceased’s family. The family of the deceased sought justice and proper investigation. Yesterday, after Doctors declared Dilip Das dead in GB hospital, a disturbance created in Agartala as police were not willing to allow CPI-M party to take the body to party office. Later at Circuit House, he was given a floral tribute. Opposition Congress, Left parties have condemned the police’s role in handing over the dead body. Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has demanded that the BJP-led State Govt must stand beside the family of Dilip Sukla Das who was killed by BJP Gram Panchayat Pradhan.

Sarkar also said, the decision of DGP that dead body can’t be allowed to family and CPI-M party in Agartala was politically ‘motivated’.

Sarkar said, regardless political identities, the Govt should stand beside the family.

CPI-M supporter Dilip Sukla Das was murdered in Kalyanpur by BJP Panchayat Prdahan Krishna Kamal Das, who has been arrested in Kalyanpur. Police have claimed the motive of the murder is ‘not political’ whereas deceased’s family said Dilip Sukla Das was murdered with political muscle of the Gram Panchayat Pradhan.

Although police claimed it was not a political murder but no elected leader from BJP party has yet visited the house of Dilip Sukla Das.
