AGARTALA, Feb 19 (TIWN): Reacting over the issues that erupted centering CPI-M party’s murdered worker Dilip Sukla Das’s dead body handover, former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said that DGP’s decision about not handing over the dead body to family and not granting permission to take the body to CPI-M party office claiming that the motive of the murder was "personal rivalry" is fully politically motivated under the people who are in power.
Sarkar cited how Charilam’s murder victim Sahid Mia’s dead body was also not handed over and that incident also created same situation and his body was not allowed to be brought to the CPI-M party headquarter just like today Dilip Sukla Das’s body was not allowed.

“This is not a behaviour expected in a Civilized society. To take a body to a party office one does not need to be murdered. After natural deaths also, a person’s body is taken to party offices to pay tribute. But DGP decided the body can not be taken to party office claiming it was not a political murder but a personal rivalry. This is inhuman and it's visible that DGP's actions and words are fully politically influenced”, said Manik Sarkar.
Dilip Sukla Das was murdered by BJP Panchayat Pradhan Krishna Kamal Das and his driver Tapas Das in Kalyanpur. He died at GB Hospital and CPI-M party workers were not allowed to take the body to party headquarter in Melarmath which generated 8 hours long protest. Later, , police and CPI-M came to a compromised decision and CPI-M paid tribute to late Dilip Sukla Das at Circuit House area.
