AGARTALA, Feb 19 (TIWN): After eight hours of protest, CPI-M finally got permission to pay tribute to murdered party worker Dilip Sukla Das, who was murdered by BJP Pradhan Krishna Kamal Das and his driver Tapas Das in Kalyanpur.
Amid ongoing post poll violence incidents in Tripura, the BJP leader and his driver attacked Dilip Sukla Das. Today, Dilip Sukla Das breathed his last. Police already have arrested the accused persons.
But a chaos erupted after police did not allow CPI-M to take the body of the party worker to CPI-M party headquarter and pay tribute in Agartala. Police tried to take the dead body directly to Kamalpur from GB Hospital.
CPI-M supporters led by Party Secretary cum Opposition CM candidate Jiten Chowdhury held eight hours protest, argued with the DGP over phone.
According to police, motive of the murder was personal rivalry but CPI-M refused the claim of the police and asked, even if personal rivalry which law can prevent police to allow CPI-M party to pay homage to him ?
After 8 hours of protest, police and CPI-M came to a compromised decision and CPI-M paid tribute to late Dilip Sukla Das at Circuit House area.
Noteworthy, CEO on Friday informed media that 16 post-poll violence happened in Tripura within 48 hours of the poll being completed.
