AGARTALA, Feb 19 (TIWN): It’s not necessary that to pay tribute to a dead body of a political worker, one has to be murdered by the rival parties. After any dedicated party worker’s death, a dead body is allowed to be paid tribute by the party members at party offices. But after the brutal murder of CPI-M supporter Dilip Sukla Das in Kalyanpur, Khowai by BJP Pradhan Krishna Kamal Das and his driver Tapas Das, when the deceased’s son wanted his father’s dead body should be taken to the Melarmath party headquarter before departure to his Khowai home, within 24 hours of the murder, DGP allegedly has declared that the murder was a part of personal rivalry and that’s why his body can not be taken to Melarmath party headquarter.

Allegedly, police were trying to forcefully take the body to Khowai at the deceased’s home without handing over the body to family and it generated heavy resentment among the family members and CPI-M members, leaders led them to start a protest.

This is not a new trend that police are not allowing dead body of political persons to opposition party offices as after brutal murder of CPI-M supporter Sahid Mia in Charilam, same was done by police. That time also, the dead body was not allowed to be taken to party office and police took it to the deceased house.

CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury said, police violating human rights and also police is committing crime.

“What kind of investigation is, that police claiming it is a personal rivalry so soon ?”, asked Jitendra Chowdhury.

CPI-M leader Pabitra Kar said, “Even if it’s a personal rivalry, it is up to the family of the deceased where his body should be taken”.
