AGARTALA, Feb 14 (TIWN): Heavy security deployment underway inside and outside the polling booths and sensitive areas have been marked by police authority. Addressing media ahead of the Assembly poll, which will be held on 16th February, Sadar SDPO Ajay Kumar Das said, “Keeping the election ahead, security factors have been taken under care. 237 booths are existing in the Sadar. Half sections of central forces will be deployed in each of the booths. Sensitive booths however will be deployed with a full section of force will be deployed. By tomorrow the security forces will be sent”.

“Outside the booths, that are beyond 200 meters, security will be deployed accordingly. In Khayerpur UP Police will be given, 6-Agartala Sikkim Police and Himachal Police, Bordowali UP Police and Himachal police will be deployed, Banamalipur- Maharashtra police, Pratapgarh – Maharashtra police, Barjala Maharashtra police will be deployed”, said the SDPO.

“In each PS, team will be existing so that at any crisis, these teams can rush. So inside and outside the booths, security has been deployed”, said Das.
