AGARTALA / NEW YORK, Feb 11 (TIWN): Tripura Infoway News (TIWN) Editor Saumen Sarkar in his pre-election social media live telecast speech on Saturday has urged voters to get ready to fight for Democracy and by hook and crook, they must cast their democratic rights on the EVM machine on February 16. Tripura Election is scheduled to be held on February 16 and the result will be declared on March 2nd. Based on sources, the Editor expressed worries about possible booth rigging attempts might be taken by BJP. Citing previous poll rigging, TIWN Editor urged the voters that at anyhow, this time voters must cast their votes; otherwise, Tripura’s situation will be further worsened.

TIWN Editor also expressed concerns over how Election will be held by free and fair means when incidents are showing that BJP MLA Surajit Datta’s nephew Abhishek Datta who was detained under Arms act was released immediately, displaying a very weak role of the police. Also, he raised a question, when before previous polls, Election Commission assured about a total “Free and Fair Election”, but in the end all the assurances turned into just a pen and paper formality and booth was massively rigged, what is the guarantee that this time, it will not happen?

Editor Saumen Sarkar also criticized CM Manik Saha for his blind roleplay as a CM, overlooking BJP’s all hooliganism, even though Manik Saha is being projected as the honest face of BJP. Editor asked, why was Manik Saha silent when under his State President tenure violence took place, media houses were attacked and in Agartala in last by-poll even senior citizens were not spared from the attack of BJP hooligans ?

In the end, Editor told voters that amid all the bad times, and challenges he has been facing in the BJP era, he did not surrender before the terror and false cases under BJP Govt. Editor added, he believes that voters also will show now enough courage to defeat BJP’s terror and cast votes regardless of the situations, terror created by BJP like other polls.
