AGARTALA, Feb 8 (TIWN): Left Front’s manifesto’s few points have turned heavy on BJP especially with the annual-twice DA announcement and promise of restoration of old pension scheme which guarantees a person’s pension till death and after the pensioner’s death, old pension scheme guarantees family pension. Slamming Left Front, BJP said, Left Front will give 1% DA which means 10% DA in 5 years. Infact this old pension scheme and annual 9 to 10% DA system was existing in Tripura before BJP came to power in 2018. It has made the Left Front’s ground for employees’ vote banks. Tripura was the only state which was giving the old pension scheme to employees whereas other states were following the new pension policy but nationwide protests are going on against the new policy as the old policy was ensuring a person’s pension for lifetime. Even now in India Ministers, MLAs, MPs are getting lifetime pension.

Tripura state employees who were recruited since 2018 March will not get lifetime pension as BJP Govt removed the old pension scheme and implemented the Central new pension scheme. Left Front has promised in its manifesto, if Left Front comes to power then the old pension scheme will be restored.

Rubbishing the point BJP spokesperson Santosh Saha in a press meet said, it is no way possible by the Left as the national pension policy was not introduced by BJP but by Monamohon Singh Govt. BJP also alleged that annually two times DA was promised but hardly 1% DA will be given each time.
