AGARTALA, Feb 2 (TIWN): BJP’s ‘Dadagiri’ over opposition parties is generating turmoil in this state, though Election Commission is allegedly side-lining such matters. What kind of culture is this to enter opposition candidates’ house and pressure the family members to get back their resigned party member who is now an opposition candidate? How would BJP react if opposition party leaders enter BJP's candidates' home like this ? Former BJP leader, now Tipra Motha candidate Ranjan Sinha’s wife was in tears due to massive harassment and annoying situation that was created by BJP central leader Phanindranath Sarma, Tripura BJP Minister Ram Prasad Pal, Ashok Sinha and others. They used massive Govt machinery to visit the Tipra Motha candidates’ house. At last the candidate did not meet them and it was told the BJP leaders that Ranjan Sinha was not at home.
Tipra Motha Supremo Pradyot Manikya on his social media page protested the situation created by BJP.
Ranjan Sinha not only has quit BJP but also has filed a case against BJP candidate Tinku Roy for his “Fake” high school degree.
BJP allegedly offered bribes, indirectly threatened the resigned BJP leader, Tipra Motha Chandipur Candidate Ranjan Sinha to withdraw nomination.
On the other hand, BJP’s another candidate MLA Mabaswar Ali who without resigning from CPI-M had become direct BJP candidate although his MLA post has been kept unaffected whereas in case opposition MLAs, Speaker immediately would have suspended that person. Even after complaining to the ECI, no development has come to the matter.
