Along with him, police were also successful to recover pistol, cartridges.

Journalist Dipankar Debnath, S/O-Gautam Debnath was absconding after he engaged in gun-firing incident leaving 1 Injured.  Reportedly, the shocking incident that was held in Mohanpur on Tuesday morning has left Dipankar’s own cousin sister Kanaka Debnath, W/O-Surajit Debnath seriously injured. 

According to the victim’s statement, Dipankar came with his father Gautam Debnath and a few others and accused her husband Surajit Debnath of having friendships with many girls. When the family protested against the allegation, suddenly Dipankar started gun attack after he had removed the pistol from his pocket.  After 5 to 6 rounds of firing, one bullet hit the victim and anyhow she and her mother-in-law managed to escape inside the rooms and locked the rooms from inside. 

Dipankar is a Mass Communication passed-out student of Tripura University and has been working in various print and TV channels.
