AGARTALA, January 18 (TIWN): Tripura Pradesh Woman Congress President Kalyani Roy today visited the 10 year girl, whose father had brutally attempted to bury her alive a few days before in the Juvenile Home today along with a team of PCC Delegates. The team comprising Pradesh Woman congress Vice President Smt Basana Debnath, Councilor cum General Secretary of TPWC Himani Deb Barma, General Secretary Shikha Gupta, Secretary Ratna Debnath, PCC Member Mujibar Islam and other members of Sonamura District Congress Committee, reached the place of occurrence at around 12.30pm. The team at first met with the grandfather and grandmother of the victim and the neighbours. Talking to the TPCC delegates both the grandfather and the grand mother said that they too demand examplery punishment of their cruel son. Kalyani Roy told TIWN over phone," We want to stand by the family of the victim especially the panic stricken girl and her mother. We also appeal to all the neighbours to record their statement before the police without being motivated by others ad incidents like this are indeed harmful for the entire society." The team also meets the mother, brother of the victim's mother.
From there the delegates came to the Kalachhera Police Station and met the Investigating Officer S B Sarkar and wanted to know about the developments of the case. IO informed the delegates that the statement of the girl had been recorded. The medical reports too said that the girl had marked of wound
at several places on her body as the cruel father forcibly tried to bury the girl and even physically tortured
the girl the night before this heinous attempt. The TPCC delegates placed the following demands before
the IO:-
1) Confession statement of the guilty father has to be recorded in presence of Sub Divisional Magistrate
or else it won't have any legal value
2) IO should appeal for custody trial against the father under 307 of the IPC
3) Police should provide security to the victim girl
4) Charge sheet must be submitted as early as possible
5) Police should demand for the highest punishment in this case .
6) Statement of the witnesses should be recorded in a manner so that they do not become hostile when
they are produced before the court.
It is to be mentioned hete that recently a callous and a hardhearted father was arrested on the charge
of making an attempt to bury his 10 years old daughter alive at the backyard of his residence along the
Indo-Bangla border under Kalamcherra Police Station.
The incident occurred at around 7:00 AM, when the ruthless father Abul Hussein on his heinous drive
tried to bury his 10 years old daughter alive near his resident along the Indo-Bangla border. Talking to
TIWN today the Kalamcherra Police said that the arrested father is under 5 days police remand and
confessed his crime.
According to the police, the accused father Abul Hussein often used to torture her daughter and wife. “But
most surprisingly the mother of the child has not registered any single case with the police since one
year”, said Police.
The incident occurred after the innocent girl unintentionally dropped a glass of water at her home,
and later making this an issue her father Abul Hussein carried her at the backyard of their house and tried
to bury her alive, said victim. She further added that during the incident her mother was nearby but did not
come to her rescue.
Following the incident police today said that when the victim’s mother went for a MGREGA work, father
Abul Hussein getting a chance tried to bury her 10 years old daughter. And later getting an alarm the
neighbours rushed to the spot and rescued the child.The police further added that if the mother would
have lodged case than the police would have sent the child to the juvenile home even before such
incident took place.
