AGARTALA, Jan 26 (TIWN): Former BJP MLA, Congress leader and expected candidate of Bordowali constituency who quit BJP party and resigned from MLA post on February 27, 2022 to join Congress has told media on Thursday that most important thing in Tripura Poll is to defeat the BJP rather than personal losses. Left Front on Wednesday had declared candidates leaving 13 seats for Congress. On being asked, Congress Incharge Ajay Kumar yesterday in Delhi said that defeating BJP is now most important job and that alignment was focussed to unseat the BJP and the alliance "should continue".

Today, Congress leader Asish Saha also said the same. He said, “In no way alliance should be affected because to remove the fascist BJP Govt, we have to do sacrifices. Our leaders in Delhi are in talk with CPI-M leaders and I think, the seat sharing will not remain as an issue”.

Noteworthy, CPI-M top leaders including 20 years incumbent Chief Minister Manik Sakar, former Ministers like Bhanulal Saha, Tapan Chakraborty, Badal Chowdhury also gave up their seats although they are winning MLAs of the Party in their constituency. Left Front has introduced 24 new faces in the candidates' list.
