Agartala, Nov 25 (TIWN): In a deadly attack on Congress activists, BJP workers carrying pistols looted money, and mobile from the Congress activists in Amtali By-Pass area under Surjamani Nagar on Friday during Congress’s “Bharat Jodo campaigning”. According to the injured persons, the BJP goons were carrying guns with them and asked the vehicle to stop. Then the people inside the vehicle were attacked and beaten up. Then all cash, mobile phones were looted. The injured persons were hospitalized and given primary treatment. “We are so unprepared for such attacks. The driver was frightened. Around 10-15 BJP workers were involved in the attack”, said another injured person.

Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman said, “Our four workers were seriously injured and over 7 persons received minor injuries. In front of police the incident took place. Brick-pelting, knife, and arms were with the BJP workers. We are observing the matter and will brief you in details further. Right now, it’s most important to provide proper treatment to the injured persons”.
